Bruce Emerson Sawhill is a convicted child molester who is at the top of the US Marshall’s list of most wanted. Already, America’s Most Wanted has profiled him, twice, the most recently on January 20, 2012. He has been on the run from authorities since 2001 when he was due in court to stand trial on charges of child molestation against 12-year-old Katie Griffin.

Katie Griffin is the daughter of Janet and Glenn Griffin. Bruce Sawhill was a family friend. He used his ties as a family friend to target the Griffin’s young daughter. The Griffin’s knew Sawhill had spent time in jail they told John Walsh during an interview. They believed Bruce Sawhill had been in jail for possession of marijuana, which is what Sawhill told them.

What Sawhill did not tell them; was in October 1989 according to Missouri’s case.net he received a felony conviction of child molestation in a Saint Louis Missouri and sentenced to 7 years in prison. He has molested a thirteen-year-old girl. This made Bruce Emerson Sawhill a convicted child molester. According to AMW’s website, he has a long list of previous convictions that include “theft, firearm offenses, assault, resisting arrest, possession of narcotics and parole violations”.

The Griffin’s discovered Sawhill had been molesting their 12 year old daughter Katie in June 2001 and notified police who quickly arrested Sawhill. During their interview with john Walsh of AMW, Ken and Janet Griffin, talk about how determined their daughter Katie was to testify and put her attacker behind bars. Unfortunately, Bruce Sawhill ran like the coward he is before he could stand trial.

Since September 2001, Bruce Sawhill has been on the US Marshall’s list of the Top Five Fugitives also known as “Operation Guardian -- an initiative designed to get the country's worst sex offenders off the streets”. Authorities believe that Bruce Sawhill is no longer in Missouri and is on the run with his wife Kenie Jo Sawhill, who disappeared in 2004, ironically right after talking to the US Marshalls.

America’s Most Wanted believes that Bruce Sawhill may be working on a marijuana farm or working in construction, specifically drywall, taping, and painting. He is a 59-year-old Caucasian male, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 200 pounds. He has blue eyes, blond hair and a receding hairline, and he may or may not have a beard. Sadly, we learn at the end of AMW’s show is that Katie Griffin “inhaled a can of spray paint” and died while visiting her 1/2 sister in Colorado. Bruce Sawhill is responsible for the terror that caused Katie to kill herself. Help authorities find Bruce Emerson Sawhill before he hurts any more children.
